MONDAY MORNING - The start of a great adventure

ARDITA:

It was finally a sunny day in London, when my journey to Queen Mary started. Today was the day we had a chance to see what it’s like to be a university student and I was really excited! Firstly we had to meet our student ambassadors at Eastlea. Their names were Jack, Katie and Sana. Then we were on our way. We arrived early at the venue, which is Queen Mary University, so we were able to get to know some of the ambassadors a bit more and I was quite surprise that the students weren’t very serious people, but very friendly and outgoing. Once other Year9 students from other schools arrived, we were able to start our day.
The organiser of this event, Michael, took us to a small lecture room and explained to us what the summer school is about. To help get to know everyone, Michael got all of us to play an ice-breaker, human bingo. It might sound quite cheesy, but we met a lot of people from other schools.
After that, the student ambassadors showed us around their amazing school campus. The campus is just like a small village with houses and shops. It was great getting to know what the university is about. They had a cafe, a Chinese restaurant if you want to have something ‘authentic’, a huge library, and many more awesome places. But it was quite freaky that there was a graveyard right in the middle of campus, and we saw a huge dead rat. But the great day we had made up for that.

NURIYA:
The things that i found most interesting was on Tuesday when we visited the Royal Hospital Museum and the Queen Mary Archives. The QM is really nice, has a lot of facilities, a lot of places for the students, the students can live in campus (in QM). I think that is really nice.  I learned I lot. The most thing that I really liked was the Campus Tour.
